What do umpires do?

In California, umpires are pros that act as neutral mediators between two claim appraisers that cannot come to a negotiated agreement on their own. California umpires are often private insurance claims appraisers, insurance attorneys, or independent public insurance adjusters that have the in-depth insurance industry experience and knowledge needed to examine the uncertain claim.

Now, what would happen if the two insurance estimators' quotes are dramatically different? They may be able to negotiate a reasonable negotiation. Expert insurance umpires appreciate California's contracting industry, local and state codes, and correlated outlays. Look for a California umpire who is educated about the insurance claims issues that mean the most to you. While the California Department of Insurance monitors insurance companies, umpires are not typically

licensed in any state. However, most California-based umpires hold related licenses or certificates and credentials. For instance, if the umpire is also a public insurance adjuster, then he has met California's insurance rules for that specific profession. Likewise, insurance attorneys must sustain their licenses for practicing law.
