What are umpires?

In Idaho, umpires are specialists that act as neutral umpires between two insurance appraisers that are not able to come to an agreement. While the Idaho Department of Insurance oversees insurers, umpires are not usually licensed in any state. While exact umpire licensing is not required by Idaho, most umpires hold related licenses or certificates and credentials. For example, if the umpire is also a public insurance adjuster, then he has met Idaho's licensing requirements for insurance adjusters for that particular profession. Similarly, insurance attorneys must maintain their licenses for practicing law.
