What do Tennessee umpires do?

In Tennessee, umpires are specialists that act as unprejudiced arbitrators between two insurance claims appraisers that cannot come to a negotiated agreement on their own. Tennessee umpires are often private insurance estimators, insurance attorneys, or public insurance adjusters that have the insurance calculations background necessary to appraise the disagreed upon claim.

For example, if you live in Tennessee and believe that an insurance settlement offer is not accurate, you might hire your own insurance estimator. Now, what if the two insurance estimators' figures and

calculations are significantly different? They may be able to negotiate a just settlement. However if the insurance estimators cannot, then that's where an umpire plays an important role.
